We provide Naked ADSL broadband connections to homes and businesses, delivered over the conventional “copper line” distribution network, available to districts that are ADSL capable. If you have a standard copper landline at your property currently or have had in the past then the installation process is typically straight forward and low cost.

We can provide an estimated speed however please note that speed can be influenced by many factors such as copper line quality, distance from the nearest ADSL exchange and overall loading in your district.

With Naked ADSL you don’t have an expensive landline based phone plan but instead we recommend using a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone line which has proven to be a very cost effective solution.

Increase Your Monthly Data

You can increase your monthly plan’s data allocation for $10.00 /month per 100 GB.

Any monthly data change is for a minimum 2 month period.
You can increase your monthly data size by as many data increments as required.

Automated Data Block

If you exceed your monthly plan’s data allocation during any month and decide not to increase your monthly data size, you will incur automated data blocks at $15.00 per 100 GB on a per event basis.

Required Equipment

To connect with DSL you need an ADSL/VDSL capable modem. This will be supplied to you by Scorch, for free (+postage) as part of your contract.

Our standard modems include basic wireless functionality.

Installation Cost

Installation costs for a DSL connection can vary depending on if the property has previously had a phone line connected, and if that phone line has had DSL services previously. In most cases this cost is from $25.00 to $110.00.

If your house has not had a phone line connected at all there may be additional cost, please refer to FAQ below for details.

Contract Term

Naked ADSL Plans are on a minimum 12 month contract.

Naked VDSL Plans are on a minimum 36 month contract.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

ADSL 12 Month Contract Disconnection Fee

The following disconnection fees apply for all ADSL copper line connections on a minimum 12 month contract term.

Contract Break fee is a fixed cost of $199.00.

VDSL 36 Month Contract Disconnection Fee

The following disconnection fees apply for all VDSL copper line connections on a minimum 36 month contract term.

The contract break fee is calculated at $20.00 for each remaining month to the end of your contract term, payable at time of disconnection.

I.e. if you have 6 months remaining in your contract the contract break fee would be $120.00.

Installation Costs

Option 1/ Property has previously had both phone line and DSL services

$25.00 one off connection fee

This is a remote activation of a new connection.

Option 2/ Property has previously had a phone line but no DSL services

$110.00 one off connection fee

This covers the line company sending an engineer to the local exchange to activate DSL services at your property.

Option 3/ Property has not had a phone line connected in the past

$260.00 one off connection fee

This covers a site visit to your property to activate the local copper infrastructure at your property external termination point.

Availability

DSL connections are managed and provided by your local line company. It is available on most copper lines however in many rural locations the lines are not yet upgraded to provide DSL services. There can also be some restrictions to availability based on distance from the local exchange, exchange capacity, and the overall line quality in your area. In most cases our sales team can check availability with you over the phone.

Shifting Address

If you are shifting to an address that has DSL capability we can likely relocate your connection to your new location. Relocation costs will apply. If there is no availability a disconnection fee may apply as per your contract terms.

What happens if I exceed my data cap?

You will be notified by email when you reach 80% and 100% of your data cap. Once you reach 100% you will begin incurring over usage charges.

You will be provided with login details to check your usage on our “MY USAGE” portal. Please note it is solely your responsibility to keep track of your usage.

Changing Plan

You can change your plan, data, email, etc at any time during your contract term.

Please note any change is for minimum one month period.

Just contact us to discuss your options and we can arrange it for you.

Static IP address

Yes, you can request a Static IP address on your Scorch DSL connection.

The cost is $10.00 /month.
