VoIP stands for “Voice over Internet Protocol”, which is a technology that allows you to make phone calls using your broadband connection instead of your conventional copper line phone service.
With VoIP services you get cheaper line rental, cheaper calling rates and access to calling features.
VoIP can be added to virtually any broadband connection with suitable signal and connectivity, all you need is a VoIP provider account and a VoIP Adapter (also known as an ATA device), in some cases what you already have may be suitable otherwise we have a range of VoIP compatible hardware that we provide depending on your connection type and requirements.
We assist your signup by gathering your information, helping you decide which VoIP Adapter is best suited and then conveying all the details to our preferred VoIP partner for your account creation. From here we courier out the configured VoIP adapter to you, plugging it in is very simple but we’ll talk you through that too.
The following are one off costs that apply when setting up a new VoIP account.

In the event of a power failure or power outage, digital home phone technologies such as VoIP require a power supply to work. This means that they will not operate in the event of a power failure or power outage without an independent power source to keep your internet service and VoIP hardware powered up.
The New Zealand Commerce Commission has released a new 111 Contact Code which has been created to ensure that identified vulnerable consumers will have reasonable access to an appropriate way of calling a 111 emergency services number in the event of a power failure or power outage. Please visit our Vulnerable Consumers page here for further information.
